Charleston Street Scene

This is another in my Charleston Street Scenes series. What corner is this in Charleston? Do you know? First correct response gets a set of notecards. Answer by commenting below. My friend Louise is not eligible - I already told her when she came into my studio. (Sorry Louise!)

Caribbean Girl 2

Here is another art card painting. (2.5"x3.5") It is based on a photo I took at the Gullah Festival in Beaufort SC several years ago. The dancers are the Marie Brooks Dancers from New York City. I shot a roll of film that day. I started painting years later, and oddly enough, I have created paintings from many of those photos.

Watermelon Man

I've started a series of Charleston Street Scenes. This is 12"x16", and I plan to frame it up to 16"x20". Let me know if you're interested. Can anyone guess what street this is in downtown Charleston? Your comments are welcome and appreciated.

Miss Lula

I painted this for my husband for Father's Day. It is a portrait of his granddaughter Lula. It is based on a photo I took on her first birthday last month. He absolutely loved it!

This is another ACEO (or Art Trading Card) original painting. It is 3.5"x2.5", and comes with a Certificate of Authenticity. My ACEO originals are signed and come with a 2.5x3.5 Certificate of Authenticity. I have placed this original up for auction on eBay.

I guess I've been a member of the Early Morning Club the past few weeks, and I didn't even realize there was such a club! I stumble up the stairs to my studio over my garage every morning, as the brushes are up there screaming my name when I awake! My husband follows a while later with a cup of coffee and a glass of juice, then disappears. Some days the mundane intrudes and I have to cut painting time short - I don't always make it back up to the studio later, but I'm happy for my early morning peace.

ACEO - "Caribbean Girl 1"

I'm trying my hand at making ACEOs. ACEOs are Art Card Editions & Originals. By definition, they should measure 2.5 x 3.5 inches in size and are purchased, traded and collected by many thousands of avid art fans, the World over. This makes archival art suddenly affordable . ACEO prints make the perfect gift for anybody with very little display space. ACEOs are considered Art Miniatures and as such, are a great art investment for those who appreciate fine art in this amazing format. My ACEO originals are signed and come with a 2.5x3.5 Certificate of Authenticity. I have placed this original up for auction on eBay.

I painted this originally for my grandson Nicholas. I have recently made a print for my little niece Maggie. Her room is an aquatic theme - mermaids and such.
