Untitled ?

16"x12" - painted on 140 lb Arches Cold Pressed paper

I spent a recent morning in downtown Charleston looking for reference material to paint for my Street Scenes series. These two ladies were walking on Meeting Street in front of Kordonis Grocery. Do you have any ideas for a title for this? Respond by Thursday, Sept 25. If your title is selected, you will receive a set of my notecards!

Mama

My mother recently had a fall down the stairs and broke her collar-bone and three ribs! In additon to that, she spent a few days in the hospital due to dehydration. Since then, she is recovering nicely. She is home and is diligently working with her physical therapists, and she plans on a full recovery.
I sketched this in her hospital room as she sat up in a chair. The sketch is with India ink pen in my small sketchbook. I later added the watercolor washes.

Collages - shoes

I framed small 2.5"x 3.5" prints of my shoe paintings as a collage, one in a gold frame, one in a silver frame. The exterior dimensions of these are about 7.5"x16".
These are available from Andrea's Online Sales Gallery store, or contact me by commenting to this post.

This is a study I did last week at the Tony Van Hasselt outdoor painting workshop in Boone, NC. Of course, we were thoroughly rained out, so I painted this from a photo I had taken earlier this summer in Charleston's East Side. This is the detail of the bike rider in the painting.

Weesie's Teacup

This is the final painting in the "Weesie's Teacups" series.
Last week I took a watercolor workshop with noted artist Tony Van Hasselt in the North Carolina mountains at Boone. The workshop was supposed to be about outdoor painting, but it rained every day, due to Tropical Storm Fay. However, we still had a wonderful workshop indoors at Cheap Joes Art Stuff's art studio/classroom. It was a joy to be immersed in art with an old friend, and many new friends.
