Rainbow Row

11"x14" - Oil

My friend Louise and I went walking downtown not long ago and came across this scene on East Bay St at Rainbow Row. I took some photos and later decided to paint it for my Old Charleston Oils series. I plan to put it in the Charleston Artist Guild Gallery as soon as I get a space...that is, as soon as something else sells.

Meeting Street Gate, Charleston

11"x14" - Oil

This is one of the paintings I have on sale at the Charleston Artist Guild Gallery. I did this from a photo I had taken a few years back. Nowadays, the vines above the gate and the bench have been removed and the gate has since been painted light beige. I love the design of the wood and the hardware on it. It doesn't look like they picked up a couple of hinges at Lowe's, but some blacksmith spent some hours pounding and shaping them.

Award Announcement

I found out yesterday that my watercolor painting "Gift Shop" placed third at the North Charleston Arts Festival Judged Art Exhibition. I'm thrilled because I've won several "Honorable Mention" awards in the past, but this is the first time I've placed in a competition.
